Several of Lincoln Wellington's more senior athletes have been competing at the Indoor European Veterans Athletics Championships in
Ghent, Belgium.
John Moore brought home the most medals, with a bronze in the 200m final and a time of 27.6s along with a bronze in the 4x200m relay.
He also competed in the 400m and came 5th in the final with a time of 62.20s.
Denise Timmis was another athlete who competed successfully, running what was by all accounts a storming leg in the 4x200m and taking gold in addition to a season's best, and the furthest personal jump in four years in the
Long Jump of 4.53m in conjunction with a season's best in the 60m of 9.06s.
All of which are club records for the W50 age group.
Also competing at this distinguished event were Dorothy Fraser, who brought home silver in the 4x200m relay, coming a very close 4th in the 200m with a time of 37.77s, and Betty Stracey, who competed in the 3000m, coming home 6th with a time of
15m 59.01s along with the cross country where she came a respectable 7th with a time of
30m 24s.
