Despite recent bad weather, most of the club's endurance squad have continued to train and now look forward to this
weekend's County Cross Country Championships at Riseholme.
Twelve individual and team titles are up for grabs and there will be major disappointment if the Wellington athletes do not collect a major share of these.
The Senior Men's team title is one of the big bankers with Tom Doe, Aaron Scott and Ian Kimpton likely to dispute the individual title.
The Senior Women also look certain to land the team title, with Lara Thomas being supported by Natalie Farrow and Lucinda Pitcher.
Wellington also appear to be unbeatable in the U15 Girls age group, where Abbie Donnelly and Bo Haywood lead a very powerful squad.
The U15 Boys will be favourites for their team award with Haran Dunderdale a strong contender to lead the field home.
There will be no Wellington teams in the U20 age groups, but Ronnie Wilson should go very close to winning the
Men's race. Libbie Read, Laura Donnelly and Sheridan McWilliam are likely to take the
U17 Women's title and also bid strongly for the individual honours.
And further team titles for Wellington could come in the U13 Boy's race and also the
Veteran Men's and Women's events.
