Friskney Half Marathon Friskney 11 April 2010 |

Lincoln Wellington AC runners made me so proud today for two totally different reasons. First, and most obviously, we performed extremely well and took away a lot of prizes. Second, and more importantly to me, we had 16 athletes taking part which was far more than any other club. Not bad for a race which was more than 40 miles away from Lincoln! The Friskney Half is a well known PB course and this may partly explain our enthusiastic attendance! It is also well known for being very flat but with head winds that are worse than hills and seem to have the ability to change direction! With so many runners taking part here are their positions and times. 5th Rich Bateson 1h 18m 53s, 8th Peter Duncan 1h 21m 15s, 9th Neil Coney 1h 22m 00s, 14th Lucinder Pitcher 1h 24m 33s, 29th Glenn Moore 1h 30m 49s, 30th David Wilson 1h 31m 23s, 37th Richard Titchmarsh 1h 34m 50s, 41st Mark Lovett 1h 35m 45s, 42nd Andy Grimwood 1h 35m 59s, 53rd Rob Smith 1h 39m 58s, 54th Mick Ramsden 1h 39m 58s, 56th Steve Bullivant 1h 40m 33s, 61st Netty Wasyliw 1h 42m 26s, 68th Gary Fenwick 1h 45m 03s, 82nd Jane Ramsden 1h 49m 21s and 126th Dave Smith 2h 02m 32s. As a result of the above performances, we won 1st Ladies Team prize and were 2nd Male Team (only one point off first place!). Individually, Lucinda was 1st Senior Lady, Rich Bateson was 2nd Senior Male and Richard Titchmarsh was 1st Vet 60 Male. Several people ran PBs today - you know who you are! Well done to everyone for making this a very successful day out. You did yourselves, Lincoln Wellington AC and me very proud! Only 2 weeks to the London Marathon....GREAT! |
