Following the cancellation of several meetings, including the Lincolnshire
Cross Country championships, Lincoln Wellington athletes finally got the new year under way with some medal winning performances at the North of England
Indoor Championships at Sheffield.
In the U20 Men's age group, a superb Triple Jump of 14.09m gave Matt Houlden a well deserved silver medal with the winner of the event having to produce a championship best performance to defeat him.
A second silver medal went to Hannah Dunderdale in the U17 Women's Shot with a putt of 9.83m.
And there was a bronze for Hayley Fox with a clearance of 2.30m in the
Senior Women's Pole Vault. On the track, a good run from Tom Doe in the
Senior Men's 3000m gave him 3rd place in 8m 24.77s and, after a long spell on the injured list, he is looking set for a good outdoor season.
