BMC PB Classic Tipton 25 July 2009 |

Three Lincoln Wellington athletes travelled to Tipton for this evening meeting with rewarding results.
Competing in near perfect conditions, Libbie Read produced a breakthrough performance, smashing her
PB as she crossed the line first of ten athletes in a time of 4m 53.49s for 1500m.
In the same race, Nicola Isaacs also recorded a new PB as she finished in third place with a time of
5m 00.10s, agonisingly close to breaking the 5 minute barrier. The previous race had seen Emma Tonner also competing over 1500m, where she faced, amongst others, the East Midlands number one ranked athlete in her age group. In the mixed field of ten athletes, Emma was always well placed and kicked away off the final bend to finish in 3rd place overall and first female, only missing her PB by a tenth as she recorded a time of 4m 45.21s. |
