Lincs Combined Events Championships Grantham 15-16 May 2009 |

Over the weekend, 6 LWAC athletes competed in the Lincolnshire Combined Events Championships at Grantham.
Their aim was to to finish in the top 4 in their age group to represent Lincolnshire in the Regional Championships at Corby. In his first Decathlon, Matt Holden (aged 17) finished 4th in the U20 Mens competition with 4648pts, winning the 100m, 100mH and Long Jump. In the U17 Mens Octathlon, Joe Dunderdale finished 2nd, breaking the club record with 4106pts. Joe won the Discus and Javelin events. In the U15 Boys Pentathlon, Josh Holden finished 3rd with 1766pts with Haran Dunderdale 4th with 1516pts. Josh scored well in the High Jump and Shot with Haran scoring well in the 800m. Finally, in the U15 Girls Pentathlon, Hannah Dunderdale finished 2nd with 2719pts with Katie McMunn a creditable 7th with 2051pts. Hannah won the Shot and Long Jump with Katie scoring well in the Shot. |
