Track runner Lucinda Pitcher made her Half Marathon debut and, after being slightly off the pace at halfway, she came through strongly in the later stages to record a very good winning time of 86m 35s which placed her 17th overall.  Antoinette Wasilyw in 73rd spot and Jane Ramsden 86th completed the successful women’s team.

In the men’s contest, Pete Duncan was first home for Wellington with a time of 83m 16s giving him 9th place.  Steve Campion was one place further back with 83m 44s and Rob Butler completed the winning trio with 86m 13s for 15th position.  John Holmes finished in 86m 57s after giving Lucinda some help with her pacing in the later stages.  And, a little further back, the Wellington contingent was completed by Andrew Grimwood (85th) and Andy Dewar (105th).
