The shot followed, where she recorded her first PB of the day with a third round throw of 9.85m. They then moved onto the
High Jump where Hannah had problems with her run up and the wind eventually clearing 1.34m. With only a few point separating
the Lincolnshire, Essex and Norfolk teams, the girls moved onto the Long Jump. In pouring rain, the Hannah responded well
recording another PB with her third jump of 4.93m.
After a long arduous day, at 6pm the girls moved to the 800m, where on paper Essex had the fastest two girls. However the
Lincs girls put in a magnificent effort to ensure their place in the national final at Birmingham in September. Hannah won the
final heat with another PB performance timed at 2m 30.1s.
The individual competition was won by fellow Lincolnshire athlete, Gabby Bangay, with 2955pts. Hannah finished 3rd with
2864pts, achieving English Schools and AAA Grade One standards. With Gabby and Hannah currently ranked first and fifth in the
UK, in the age group the Lincolnshire team have a great chance of competing with the best in the finals.
