A rampant team effort gave the Lincoln Wellington squad a winning margin of exactly 100 points in their second Northern Young Athletes League division 1 match of the season at Grimsby. Matt Houlden notched a trio of successes in the
U17 Men age group with a fine win in the triple jump (12.44m) being followed by a 200m win in 24.0s and a 100m hurdles victory in
18.9s. Neil Humberstone also completed an excellent day with wins in the 400m hurdles in
63.5s, 100m hurdles in 15.7s and long jump with 4.87m. Stuart Campbell won the A 400m hurdles in 63.1s and followed up with a leap of 4.70m to take the long jump. And the two 100m races went to Chris Leslie and Matt Moore with times of 12.1s and 12.7s respectively. Joe Dunderdale weighed in with a couple of wins in the 1500m steeplechase
(5m 46.9s) and javelin (39.26m) with the B javelin victory going to Simon Parr with 29.33m. The latter also won the B 200m in 27.2s and a final U17 victory went to Ryan Stevenson who won the 3000m in
10m 34.1s. Jack Culpin did very well to score in the U15 Boys 400m in 61.7s and follow up by taking the 800m in
2m 28.4s. The B 100m went to Sam Chapman in 13.9s and he was also 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the long jump. James Bermingham picked up places in the 100m, 200m and shot and other good points scorers were Luke Martin, Liam Clarke and Richard Brine. Alex Humberstone is looking like a very good prospect for the future and he underlined his potential with three wins in the
U13 Boys events. He took the 800m in 2m 35.1s, the 100m in 14.5s and also won the long jump with 4.24m. Haran Dunderdale matched him by scoring in the 1500m in
5m 04.7s, the 75m hurdles in 14.2s and the high jump with 1.34m. Josh Drotleff also had a splendid match and took the B 100m in
15.1s, the A 200m in 29.3s and the B long jump with 3.49m. A brace of successes went to Alex Willerton with
2m 40.8s in the B 800m and 30.4s in the B 200m. And Nathan Fawcett notched a useful B 1500m win in
5m 53.4s.
The in-form Shireen Timmis picked up a good double in the U17 Womens sprints with 13.2s in the 100m and 26.3s in the B 200m. Mary-Ann Phillips took the A 200m in 26.2s and maximum points came in the 1500m with Becky Dobson taking the A race in 5m 10.4s and Holly Haywood following up in the B race with 5m 25.0s. Hester Talbot was 2nd in the A 300m in 45.6s but Laura McMunn took the B race in 48.7s. Becky Dobson picked up good field event points with wins in the B discus and javelin and Michelle Finch and Jenny Vigurs were runners up in the 100m and 800m respectively. Vicki Lawrence was in treble winning form for the U15 Girls and won the B 200m in 29.1s, the high jump with 1.25m and the B javelin with 14.57m. Hannah Dunderdale took the A 200m in 27.0s and the 75m hurdles in a top class time of 12.0s. She completed a very good meeting with a club record 26.75m for 2nd place in the javelin. Megan Ball was runner up in the A 800m in 2m 28.2s but the B race went to Jasmine Cornwell in 2m 33.7s and she picked up further points with a win in the B shot. Laura Maplethorpe won the B discus with 12.69m with other good contributions to the points coming from Rebecca Wells and Lucy Helas. The U13 Girls also came up with their share of successes led by Katie McMunn who took the 75m in 11.1s and the high jump with 1.31m before finishing 2nd in the 70m hurdles in 12.5s. Catrina Thomas won the 800m in 2m 39.3s and Rhiannon Philips scored in the 1200m in 4m 21.0s and the B 150m in 23.0s. Amy Clarke won the B 75m in 11.3s and useful efforts came from Allison Mouzon in the 800m, high jump and long jump and also from Ellie Mason-Powers in the 150m and shot. |
