The very promising sprinter Caitlin Lynch took the U15 Girls 100m in 13.3s and followed up in the 200m with a win in
27.0s. The B 100m went to Hannah Dunderdale in 13.9s and she completed a good hat-trick with further wins in the 75m hurdles in 12.9s and the shot with 9.43m. Becky Wells (3.45m) and Libby Read (3.54m) picked up good points in the long jump with the latter also taking the B 800m in
2m 41.9s. Jasmine Cornwell was runner-up in the A race in 2m 38.4s and Megan Ball was a good 3rd in the 1500m in
5m 15.3s. Richard Brine (2m 28.4s) and Sam Chapman (2m 43.9s) took the two
U15 Boys 800m races and then went on to repeat the double in the 100m with an A race win for the former in 14.0s and a B race success for the latter in
14.2s. Chapman completed an excellent afternoon by winning the B long jump with 4.08m. There was a double win for Wellington in the javelin with 18.21m from Luke Martin and 10.82m from Jake Moss. Haran Dunderdale did well for the U13 Boys, winning the high jump with 1.34m, the 75m hurdles in 15.4s and placing 2nd in the 1500m in
5m 08.5s. Nathan Fawcett won the shot with 3.20m and Alex Humberstone took the long jump with 4.00m. Josh Drotleff was successful in both the B 100m and 200m. Katie McMunn was in double form for the
U13 Girls and won the shot with 6.99m and the 70m hurdles in 12.9s. Catrina Thomas was 2nd in a high class 1200m in
4m 07.0s with Rhiannon Philips taking the B race in 4m 14.7s as well as the B 150m in
22.9s. Further wins for the U13s came from Amy Clarke in the B long jump (3.60m) and Ellie Mason-Powers in the B 75m

Match 1 - Jarrow

The Lincoln Wellington squad made an excellent start to their Young Athletes Division
Northern 1 East campaign with a fine performance in their first match of the season at Jarrow. The
U17 Men scored prolifically and maximum points came in the 800m with Chris Woodger taking the A race in
2m 04.2s and Jack Skeet claiming a B race win in 2m 05.3s. The same pair also picked up maximum high jump points with clearances of 1.55m and 1.35m respectively. Good throws in the javelin resulted in another set of maximum points with Joe Dunderdale recording 33.64m and Simon Parr 30.66m. The 3000m also brought a double win with Jon Humberstone crossing the line in a useful
10m 05.3s to win the A race and Ryan Stephenson following up in the B contest in
10m 32.7s. And yet another Wellington 1-2 came in the 1500m steeplechase from Stuart Campbell
(4m 51.5s) and Joe Dunderdale (5m 32.1s). Matt Houlden had a productive day and won the triple jump with 12.91m and the 200m in
23.9s. He was also 2nd in the 100m in 12.0s with Neil Humberstone taking the B race in
12.3s. A final maximum came in the 400m hurdles with good wins for Neil Humberstone in 64.4s and Joe Dunderdale in
71.5s. In the 400m flat, both Stuart Campbell (54.9s) and Simon Parr
(57.8s) finished in the runners-up slots. The U17 Women made a good start when Laura McMunn (13.51m) and Holly Haywood (11.05m) both won the hammer contests. Hester Talbot was a clear cut winner of the 800m in
2m 25.8s and finished 3rd in the 300m in 45.4s. And Frances Aitchison and Holly Haywood picked up maximum points in the 3000m with
11m 10.3s and 11m 35.9s respectively with the former going on to take the B 300m in
50.4s. An easy win in the 1500m for Becky Dobson in 5m 10.0s gave Wellington a final success in the
U17 age group.
