A Wellington sprint trio travelled to Birmingham for the Norwich Union England U20, U17 & U15 Indoor Championships.
First on the track was Mary-ann Phillips in the U17G 300m heats. With the first two athletes of each race to qualify for the semi-finals, Mary-ann was just pipped at the line to finish 3rd with an awesome personal best and club record of 42.43s. Caitlin Lynch was next up in the U15G 60m heats, qualifying comfortably for the next round with a personal best of 8.29s.
Caitlin ran even faster in the semi-final with another excellent personal best of 8.26s, just missing out on reaching the final. Shireen Timmis contested the U17G 60m, despite suffering from a virus since qualifying for the championships with a blistering personal best and club record of 8.18secs at the EIS Sheffield Open in December. Having not trained for a number of weeks Shireen ran a very creditable 8.31s.
