BMAF Indoor Championships
Lee Valley
23-24 February 2008
|
A small group from the formidable Lincoln Wellington veteran squad plundered another batch of medals from the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley stadium.
Dot Fraser is virtually invincible in the W70 age group and she duly picked up a pair of gold medals by winning the 60m in 10.64s and following up with a second success in the 200m in
36.68s. She was matched on this occasion by Betty Stracey who was also in dual gold medal form. She opened her account with a win in the W65 1500m in 7m 12s and then went on to score in the 3000m in the same age group in
15m 09.1s. Denise Timmis added to the medal tally with a fine leap of 4.43m to claim silver in the W45
Long Jump category. And she was also 3rd in her heat of the 60m in 9.11s – a time which placed her 7th overall. Malc Bramhall had a good pipe opener by finishing 4th in his heat of the M45 60m in 8.00s. He followed with a very good run in his heat of the 400m and took 2nd place in 55.76s - unfortunately just missing qualification for the final by one place. |
