BMAF T&F Championships
Birmingham

Six LWAC athletes travelled to Birmingham for the BMAF Championships last weekend.

Dot Fraser, relishing the opportunity as a youngster in her W70 age group, came away from the meeting with 3 golds and one silver medal.  She was 1st in the 100m with 17.14s, 1st in the 200m with 36.84s, 1st in the 400m with 85.86s, and 2nd in the Hammer with 18.37m.  Betty Stracey competed in the W65 5000m, coming away with 2nd place in 26m 05.38s.  Denise Timmis, competing in the W45 age group, achieved 3rd place in the 100m with 14.13s and 2nd place in the Long Jump with 4.60m.  Also in the W45 age group, Susie Ardron was 3rd in the 800m with 2m 40.67s and 4th in the 1500m with 5m 28.65s.

Malcolm Bramhall, competing in the M45 age group, placed 6th in his 100m heat with 12.54s, 2nd in in his 200m heat with 25.25s going on to finish 4th in the final with 24.89s, 2nd again in his 400m heat with 56.22s reaching a podium position in the final with 55.74s for 3rd place.  John Moore ran the M55 200m achieving 26.84s for 7th place in the final.
