LWAC - Training visit to Wales - 18-19 November 2006

Last weekend Lincoln Wellington athletes Sarah Davey, April Bontoft, Katrina Sutcliffe and Ellie Clarke, aged between 15 and 16 travelled to South Wales for a tough but enjoyable training weekend organised by their coach Gary Warhurst.

Joined by their team mates Lara and Alexander Thomas and other athletes from Cardiff AC, the weekend commenced with a hard training session at Merthyr Mawr, the largest sand dunes in Britain, and a popular training spot for international athletes such as Linford Christie. The hard work was well worth it as after the session Colin Jackson and his protégé Rhys Williams were delighted to have photos taken with the athletes.

Another training session took place on Sunday led by the athlete’s hosts Rob and Sue Hooper of Cardiff AC.
