On Sunday 6th August a team from Lincoln Wellington set out for the fourth and final Northern League at Boston. The weather was fairly warm but there was a slight breeze. In the men’s hammer event Adie White and Jim Slater both finished 5th in the A and B
events throwing 27.44m and 19.02m. In the women’s Hammer Hayley Fox and Jane Clarke were competing for Lincoln. Hayley in the A
event threw a distance of 23.12m to finish 4th while Jane in the B event threw 20.72m to finish 3rd. Still competing in the field events Jim and Adie again gained valuable points in the Discus. Jim competing in the A event threw 30.64m to finish 6th with Adie throwing 28.25m to finish 3rd. Also competing in the Discus Hayley Fox and Jane Clarke again doubled up with Hayley throwing 23.95m to finish 7th and Jane 18.07m to finish 5th. In the men’s Javelin event Russ Muhl and Matt Bowser were representing Wellington, with Russ throwing 38.96m to finish 4th and Matt 38.05m to finish 2nd. In the women’s javelin Nina Swaby threw 19.10m to finish 5th while Sharon Waller threw 17.34m to finish 6th. The Men’s shot putt featured Adie White and Jim Slater, Adie threw 8.89m to finish 6th with Jim throwing 8.16m to finish 5th. In the Women’s shot putt Lydia Chamberlin and Jane Clarke threw 10.73m and 5.92m to finish 1st and 5th in that event. at website@lwac.org.uk

The first athlete from Lincoln to compete on the track was Geoff Powley competing in the men’s 400m Hurdles after a flying start he finished fourth with a time of
65.sm in the men’s A event with Mal Bramall competing in the B race finished 3rd with a time of
66.8s. In the men’s 110m Hurdles David Carrat and Adie White ran well to both finish 2nd with times of 16.7s and
19.5s. The Woman 100m hurdles again featured Lydia Chamberlin and Hayley Fox. Lydia ran an outstanding 14.7s to win her heat while Hayley ran 19.5s to finish 2nd.
In the 100m event for men Dan Hill and Matt Richardson ran 11.5s and 12.3s to finish 4th and 6th. In the woman’s event Nina Swaby and Ellie Clark both finished 5th in times of 13.4s and
14.2s. The 200m again featured Dan Hill who ran 23.3s to finish 2nd in the A race with Dan Eyre running 25.6s to finish 7th in the B race. Lydia Chamberlin and Denise Timmis featured in the women’s 200m with Lydia running 26.7s to finish 3rd and Denise running 30.4s to finish 5th. In the Men’s 400m Matt Bowser finished 2nd
running 50.9s, Steve Gregory then won his heat in a time of 50.2s. In the Woman’s 400m Liz Ward and Ellie Clark ran times of 63.1s to finish 4th and 65.0s to finish 3rd. In the men’s 800m Matt Bowser ran
1m 56.7s to win his race with Steve Gregory running 1m 59.8s also to win his race. In the women’s event Lara Thomas and Tertian Ritchie both finished 2nd with times of
2m 20.7s and 2m 36.6s. In the men’s 1500m Will Strangeway and Josh Stone both finished 2nd in
their races with times of 4m 09.8s and 4m 21.7s. In the 1500m for women Lucinda Pitcher ran
4m 50.0s to finish 2nd in the A event and Sarah Coates ran 5m 13.1s to win the B
event. In the Women’s 3000m Jo Campion and Susie Ardron ran for Lincoln Wellington with Jo running
11m 49.0s to finish 3rd in the A event and Susie running 12m 20.1s to win the B
event. The men’s 3000m steeple chase featured Mark Baddeley and Danny Roome who was making his debut at this event. Mark and Danny both won
their races in times of 9m 59.2s and 10m 55.1s. In the men’s 5000m event representing Lincoln Wellington
were Roy Smith and Adie Marston. Roy ran 17m 19.3s to finish 4th with Adie running
18m 03.3s to finish 3rd.
In the Men’s Long jump Steve Gregory Jumped 5.80m to finish 3rd with Mal Bramall jumping 4.98m to finish 6th. Lydia Chamberlin and Denise Timmis, Lydia jumped 5.49m to win with Denise jumping 4.58m to finish 2nd. Adie White and Geoff Powley competed in the men’s triple jump with Adie jumping 10.40m to finish 6th and Geoff jumping 9.97m to finish 4th. Hayley Fox was the only representative for Lincoln in the triple jump she jumped 8.48m to finish 6th.The men’s high jump featured Steve Gregory he jumped 1.60m to finish 7th. The woman’s high jump featured Lydia Chamberlin who jumped 1.55m to finish 3rd. In the men’s Pole
Vault Adie White and Geoff Powley vaulted 3.20m and 2.50m to finish 2nd and 3rd. The women’s
Pole Vault featured Hayley Fox who vaulted 2.60m to finish 2nd.
In the Men’s 4×100m relay the men finished 2nd with a time of 46.1s the members of the men’s 4×100m relay team were
