LWAC - BAL Cup/Plate semi-final - Derby

LWAC sent a team of athletes to Derby on Sunday 30th, to compete against seven other athletic clubs from around the Midlands.
Hopes were high that they could reach the finals. Because many of our regular athletes were unavailable on the day those that were there competed in many different events to try and get as many points as possible, gaining themselves some very competitive results. Despite coming a fantastic third at the end of the day, unfortunately they just missed out on qualifying.

WOMEN'S

Hayley Fox: Hammer 23.41m 5th Lynda Chamberlin: Long Jump 5.38m 2nd
Pole Vault 2.1m 2nd High Jump 1.55m 2nd
Discus 22.08m 7th Shot Putt 10.73m 3rd
Triple Jump 8.25m 7th 100m Hurdles 15.6sec 2nd

Nina Swaby: 100m 13.8s 3rd Liz Ward: 200m 29.6s 6th
400m 63.9s 4th

Sarah Coates: 800m 2m 30.8s 5th Blue Haywood: 1500m 4m 44.2s 2nd

Lucinda Pitcher: 3000m 10m 48.1s 1st place.

4X100m Relay LWAC athlete's crossed the line in 4th place in a time of 54.4s.
4X400m Relay LWAC athlete's finished in a time of 4m 31.3s in 5th place.

MEN'S

Tom Doe: 3000m 9m 18.9s 1st place Josh Stone: 5000m 16m 56s 5th

4X100m Relay the LWAC men flew over the line in 2nd place with a time of 55.2s.
4X400m Relay the LWAC athlete's finished in a time of 3m 30s in 3rd place.
