Young Athletes League - Div 2SE
Match 4 - Boston
23 July 2006


Lincoln Wellington athletes competed in the final Young Athlete League at the Princess Royal Stadium in Boston.  This was the last of four track and field meetings that have been taking part at different venues around the region this summer. 
The efforts of the youngsters was enormous as some of the regular athletes were competing at other events.  It was left for the rest to make up any point difference to finish at the top of the league.
The final standings at the end of the events for the club brought great pride into the faces of the athletes and coaches, having not competed in this league before they finished in 1st place earning LWAC promotion to Division One.

The most outstanding performances of the day came from:
U13 Girls: Charlotte Clark 150m, 3rd place in 22.3s,
Vicki Lawrence 800m, 1st place in 2m 32.8s,
Hannah Dunderdale 70m Hurdles, 1st place in 11.8s,
4X100m relay the U13s came 1st in a time of 58.7s.

One of the best efforts of all the match's came from Hannah Dunderdale in the Shot Putt where she threw an enormous 9.06m.

U13 Boys:- Max Brufton 200m, 1st place in 30.2s,
Anthony Read 800m, 2nd place in 2m 46.3s,
4X100m relay the boys finished in 2nd place in a time of 60.5s.

U15 Girls:- Mary Ann Phillips 200m, 1st place in 27.3s,
Chelsea Coyle 1500m, 1st place in the B race in 5m 24s,
Hester Talbot Discus, 3rd place with a new PB of 14.97m,
Hannah Flint Discus, 3rd place in B section with 12.42m.

U15 Boys:- Jack Skeet 400m, 1st place in 56.4s,
Stuart Campbell 1500m, 1st place in 4m 50.3s,
Joe Dunderdale Javelin, 2nd place with 30.62m.

U17 Women:- Ellie Clarke ran a fantastic 200m, finishing in 1st place in a time of 29.1s.

U17 Men:- Gavin Campbell competed in the 1500m, ducking over the finish line in 1st place in 
a time of 4m 40.5s, 
Tom Straw finished the 800m in 2nd place in a fantastic time of 2m 09.1s,
Josh Bowden took part in the Triple Jump, leaping into 2nd place with 11.33m.

These were many other good performances on the day and through the League season.  Well done and thank you to all of the athletes who have competed for LWAC throughout the season.
