LWAC - Young Athletes League Div 2SE - Match 3 - Cudworth

Athletes from Lincoln Wellington athletics club travelled to Cudworth, South Yorkshire last weekend to compete in the third Young Athletics League match.

Connor Malt and Josh Malt both running in the u13b 100m, raced to the finish line to see who would cross it first out of the two brothers with Josh getting a time of 16.8s and Connor 17.3s both finished smiling!
u13b 200m-Max Brufton came third in the A race in a time of 30.5s, followed by James Hulme who came first in the B race in a time of 31.7s.
u13b 800m-A fantastic run from Elliot Ruffle who crossed the line in 2nd place in 2m 46.4s A race gaining himself a Grade 4, shortly followed by Tristan Kaye who finished first in the B race in 2m 59.9s.
u13b 1500m- Connor Malt in the A race finished in 2nd place in a time of 6m 29.5s, and Josh Malt who ran in the B race finished in 6m 29.7s.
U13b 75m Hurdles- Again another close race as Callum Weir finished in 16.4s and James Hulme in 16.6s.
Long Jump-Elliot Ruffle gained a grade 4 with a jump of 3.80m 3rd place and Callum Weir 3.31m, High jump Max Brufton, and Elliot Ruffle both achieved 1.05m.
In the Shot Putt Max Brufton came 1st in the A team with a throw of 5.66m, and Tristan Kaye 1st in the B team with 3.65m.

In the u13 Girls events-The 75m Hurdles Hannah Dunderdale came 2nd in 10.5s, Grade 2 and Jessica Crampton 12.1s 1st in the B team,100m - Hannah Dunderdale again came 2nd and getting another grade 2 level in 21.3, and Charlotte Clark 1st in the B team in 22.0s gaining a grade 3. 800m- Megan Ball came 1st in 2m 33.5s grade 2, and Vicki Lawrence 1st for the B team in 2m 37s also grade 2.
1200m-Laura Donnelly finished in 1st place in 4m 23.4s grade 3 and Georgina Ford 1st in the B team in 4m 37.5s grade 4.
70m Hurdles-M Ball 15.4s, and Jessica Crampton 1st for the B team in 15.6s.
Long Jump- Hannah Dunderdale 1st place with a jump of 4.51m, grade 2, and Charlotte Clark 3.90m 1st B team.
High Lump- Vicki Lawrence 2nd with a new personal best of 1.35m grade 2 and Charlotte Clark 2nd B team with 1.10m.
Shot Putt- V Lawrence 5.53m grade 4.

The 4x100m relay proved to be very tight competition between the LWAC u13g and the LWAC u15g as the age groups all ran at the same time with the u13g winning there age group in a time of 58.2s and the u15g winning their age group in a time of 57.7s.

Vicki Lawrence was awarded athlete of the match for her outstanding performance in the high jump and through out the day.

In the other age groups the result for the events were as follows:
u17m-100m M Richardson 12.1s grade 4, Aran Hull 13.6s
200m M Richardson 24.4s grade 4, Aran Hull 28.1s
400m Ben Rowe 60.7s also in the 1500m Ben finished in a time of 5m 07.9s grade 4.
Steeplechase Shane Robinson 4m 58.4s grade 4.
Long Jump: Matt Richardson 4.7m and Aaron Hull 4.41m
U15boys-100m Joe Ginniff 13.5s finishing in 3rd place, 200m Jack Thomas also finished in 3rd place in 27.5s, 400m Neil Humberstone 60.5s grade 4, and Stuart Campbell 61.7s. Stuart also got a grade 4 in the 800m in a time of 2m 21.3s, Ian Maplethorpe finished in 2m 40.7s.
1500m Jack Thomas 1st in 4m 52.1s grade 4 and Joe Dunderdale 1st in the B team in 5m 07.3.
80m Hurdles Neil Humberstone 14.9s, Lack Thomas 15.7s, Discus Joe Dunderdale achieved 21.80m, Shot Ian Maplethorpe 4.54m, whilst in the Javelin Josh Bramhall threw 19.66m and Neil Humberstone threw 17.10m.
Long Jump: Joe Clark 4.95m, Josh Bramhall 3.60m and in the High Jump both Joe Dunderdale and Joe Clark cleared a height of 1.35m.

In the Women's events the results were as follows:
U17's 100m Ellie Clarke 14.0s, 200m Ellie Clarke 28.9s and Rebecca Jackson 31.5s. 300m Ellie Clarke 47.4s and Rebecca Jackson 50.1s, 800m Siobhan Wasyliw 2m 34.6s grade 4, Siobhan also ran in the 3000m achieving a grade 4 in a time of 12m 00.6s, she also competed in the Hammer, throwing 16.04m. Shot Rebecca Jackson threw 5.44m.
U15's 100m Mary Ann Phillips 13.4s grade 3 and Shireen Timmis also grade 4 in a time of 13.9s, 200m Mary Ann Phillips 27.5s this time gaining a grade 3 and Shireen Timmis 28.5s gaining a grade 4. 1500m Hester Talbot 5m 09.9s Grade 3, 75m Hurdles Lauryn Burley 15.8s, Long Jump Hester Talbot 3.81m, High Jump Mary Ann Phillips achieved a new personal best of 1.35m grade 4, and Shireen Timmis 1.15m. Discus Hester Talbot threw a personal best of 14.34m. Javelin Lauryn Burley 12.68m, and she also took part in the Shot and threw 4.89m.

With some of the younger members of the club competing for the first time, the u13 age group achieved the most points to the clubs total. At the end of the day along with the other points gained from the u15's and u17's athletic events the club finished at the top of the league with one match to go.
