First on the course running 1351m were the Under 11 Girls and Boys where Hannah Dunderdale and Megan Ball picked up 2nd and 3rd
places in their category. The two girls both ran the small lap under seven minutes; Hannah finishing with a time of 6 minutes
21 and Megan followed just 30 seconds after, 6 minutes 51.
Next up on the course, running just over 9 Kilometres were the Junior, Senior and Veteran men. All the men had to complete
four large laps of the course totalling to 9390m. Five LWAC men bravely took on the sand, hills, marsh and watery parts of Skegness.
William Strangeway (U20) finished 2nd, clocking in after just 34 minutes and 47 seconds followed closely by his
teammates in the senior men's section Mick Jagger (3rd in 34mins 56secs) and Andy
Dunderdale (8th in 37mins 00secs). The Senior Men also won the first team award. Russ Haywood
and David Strangeway (both veterans) completed the tough course in 45.23 and 53.28. Out of the 49 finishers, they came 29th and
46th.
The under 13 Girls set off next - the girls had to complete one large lap adding up to about 2299 metres.
Representing Lincoln Wellington were Georgia Ball, Chelsea Coyle and Hester Talbot. All the girls completed the course in under
11 minutes. Georgia Ball won the race with a fast time of 10 minutes 2 seconds. On her heels following closely behind Georgia
was Chelsea in second position. Her time was 10.16. In 4th place Hester's time was 10 minutes and 39 seconds. The trio also
picked up the 1st team award.
Two Under 13 Boys, racing the same course as the girls, finished the large lap in less than 10 minutes. Jack Skeet was 1st out
of 15 athletes and team-mate Joseph Dunderdale was 3rd. Their times were 9.24 and 9.57.
The Under 15 Girls and Under 15 Boys were next. Setting off first along the one small and one medium laps (3136m) were the
girls. Winning the race in a fast time of 13.55 was Blue Haywood. Over a minute later Becki Jones came 2nd, her time was 14.59.
Racing in her first cross-country for Lincoln Wellington was Becki's twin sister Natalie Jones. She thoroughly enjoyed the
course and was pleased to hear she had finished 9th out of 15 athletes with a time
of 18 minutes 11 seconds. Again Lincoln
Wellington achieved the 1st team back.
The boys, 10 minutes later, did just over 4k, covering one medium and one large lap or the course. Elliot Haywood and Jake
Coyle achieved 3rd and 5th place. Their times were 17.09 and 17.43. Sixteen other athletes completed the race.
Racing the same distance as the U15 Boys were the U17 Women. Picking up 3rd, 4th and 5th place and the team award were Kelly Gilbert
(20.09), Sarah Kimpton (21.22) followed shortly by Layla Moore seven seconds later (21.29).
Five women from all the categories entered the Junior, Senior and Veterans race of 5548m consisting of 1 loop and 2 large laps.

28 minutes in 3rd place, in her first ever cross-country; Susie also enjoyed the interesting course. Two more women, both U20s
follow in 5th and 20th place, Amy Connolly's time was 29.15 and Andrea Coyle achieved 36 minutes and 42 seconds. After 40
minutes 15 seconds Tracy Carnall came 21st, having had to dodge the incoming sea on her final lap.

same course as the Ladies, the young men achieved 1st and 4th position.

Skegness
24 October 2004
At the first Lincolnshire league meet of the season, 27 Lincoln Wellington athletes took part.
Last year's meet at Skegness was blighted by shockingly bad weather, hail storms and strong wind
- which weren't exactly the ideal conditions to be running
on sand, hills and bits of marsh. This year however, the athletes were blessed with just a minor sea breeze, which did pick up
a little later but all in all the weather stayed well for all the runners and the spectators.
