It was a warm evening and conditions were quite humid. The sky was cloudy at times but there was no rain and the track
remained dry - perfect weather for all the athletes. Good weather meant Watford also brought out the electronic timer that
evening unlike our last visit when the weather was horrendous.
Each athlete performed very well and first up was Natalie Jones in the 100m sprints. Altogether there were 80 competing,
Natalie raced in the very last race and came out with a time of 15.27.
The other six athletes took part in the 800m. Kathleen Warhurst ran her seasons best coming 2nd out of 12 athletes, with
a time of 2-34.53. Cat Foley and Lara Thomas were selected to be in the same race and both gained good times and ran hard
throughout. Cat picked up a time of 2-34.44 and Lara achieved 2-33.62. Becki Jones was entered in the next race and ran a time
of 2-27.95. Later, Alexander Thomas ran in the 800m. The race set off fast and Alex worked his way well through the group
finishing 6th out of 15. His time was 2-19.47. Competing with Alex was Jack Skeet, who ran hard throughout to place
10th and came out with a personal best of 2-21.75.
Jack Skeet was the last Lincoln Wellington athlete to race in the 200m. His heat was fast and he crossed the line 7th with a
time of 28.46. at website@lwac.org.uk

This week, on Wednesday night seven members from the middle distance squad competed in the Watford open meet. The atmosphere
was buzzing and there were hundreds of spectators supporting and even more taking part! In the first 800m races there were
over 200 runners entered! This is not including the BMC members meet and the second lot of faster 800m races! Hayley Yelling,
amongst many other top athletes, made an appearance that night.
