The outstanding performance came from Hayley Fox with a personal best and club record clearance of 2.70m to win the pole
vault. Maximum points were gained in the 800m with Sarah Coates taking the 'A' race in 2.24.0 and Kathy Warhurst the 'B'
contest in 2.38.3. There was also a double win in the 3000m via Lucinda Pitcher (11.01.1) and Annette Bell (11.04.7). And
another maximum points track event was the 400m hurdles with Hayley Brylewski (67.1) and Nina Swaby (70.9) being the
successful athletes. Natasha Johnson ran well to finish 2nd in the 1500m in 5.16.3 with the 'B' event going to Kathy Warhurst
in 5.28.8. In the 200m Lydia Chamberlain was runner up in the 'A' race in 26.8 and Liz Ward won the 'B' contest in 27.4 and
also finished 3rd in the 400m in 60.5. Denise Timmis was 2nd in the 'B' 400m in 65.1. In the field events Danielle Bryant
(9.30m) and Sharon Waller (7.34m) picked up maximum points in the shot and the latter also won the hammer with 21.40m. A
personal best 26.23m gave Danielle Bryant 2nd place in the discus and the versatile youngster also scored good points in the
high jump and javelin. Lydia Chamberlain is another outstanding all rounder and she also gained good points in the high jump
and long jump. A good leap of 4.73m gave Denise Timmis a final individual win for the club in the 'B' long jump. Two
conclusive relay wins in 51.8 (4x100m) and 4.18.7 (4x400m) rounded off a successful meeting.
