Lincs League T&F 3 - Grantham

There was a high quality trio of victories for promising Lincoln Wellington U17 Lydia Chamberlain at the 3rd Lincs League meeting of the season at Grantham. She won the 80m hurdles in a club record 12.2 and also took the 200m in 26.7 and the long jump with 4.86m. In the same age group Amy Connelly scored in the 800m with 2.29.7. An outstanding time of 5.12.9 won the U13 girl's 1500m for Blue Haywood with Chelsea Coyle 2nd and Gemma Ball 3rd. In the 800m Paige Stanney finished 2nd in 2.35.0 just ahead of Lara Thomas in 3rd spot in 2.35.5. Alex Caskie cleared 4.00m in the long jump to finish 2nd. In the U15 800m Rachel Humberstone was a very comfortable winner in 2.32.5 with Kelly Gilbert 2nd in 2.37.8. The U 20 800m went to Alice Thomas in 2.38.2 and in the 100m Buki Ojo returned to competition with a win in 14.7. Senior winners were Rowena Harrison in the 100m (13.4), Nina Swaby in the long jump (4.36m) and Hayley Fox in the pole vault (2.50m).

There were also veteran successes for Denise Timmis in the long jump with 4.63m and the 200m in 29.9 and for Kathy Warhurst with 5.26.5 in the 1500m.

A couple of classy efforts from Jake Coyle won him the U13 boys 800m in 2.27.3 and the 1500m in 4.56.9. In the U15 age group James Dray took the 3000m impressively in a club record 9.48.8 and there was also a win for Ollie Bartlett in the 800m in 2.14.8. Tom Duffield was runner up in the 100m in 12.1 and the 200m in 24.6 with Nathan Goodman 3rd in both events. New member John Miller was 2nd in the 1500m in 4.38.,8 with Ashley Smith in 4th place. Danny Roome won the U17's 1500m steeplechase in 5.08.5 and followed up by taking the 800m in 2.11.2 with Mark Plaskett 2nd in 2.12.5. Rob Hindle picked up the U20 100m in 11.6 and also took the 200m in 24.6 and Matt Hughes notched a good win in the 800m in 2.04.7. A good clearance of 3.50m won the senior pole vault for Adey White and there were 100m and 200m victories for Steve Blagdon in 11.3 and 23.3 respectively. Andy Shepherd returned to the track with 9.34.7 for 2nd place in the 3000m. A final couple of wins went to Nigel Winchcombe in the veteran's hammer with an excellent 49.47 and the shot with 11.02m. A club record 51.3 in the U15 boys 4x100m relay concluded a rewarding meeting for the Wellington squad.
