The Lincoln Wellington womens team consolidated their position at the top of their league with a massive 76 point victory in their latest match at Grimsby. A string of high class efforts from the women gave them this fantastic result and promotion to division 2 of the Northern League next season is now assured.

Jenny Pacey is always a high scorer for the club and she won the long jump with 5.17m, the 100m hurdles in 16.4 and the shot with 11.36m. She was also 2nd in the javelin with 26.36m. Veteran Lesley Bryant won the discus with 38.27m and the B shot with 10.53m and daughter Danielle weighed in with a win in the B javelin (26.35m) and 2nd places in the B long jump (4.27m) and B high jump (1.40m). Sharon Waller took the hammer with 20.11m and Hayley Fox was runner up in the pole vault with 2.20m. Wins on the track came thick and fast with Rachael Nathan scoring by a big margin in the 800m in 2.14.6 and then scooting round in the 400m in a personal best 61.1. The talented Lydia Chamberlin won the B 100m in 13.1 and the B 200m in 26.8 and there was a winning double for Annette Bell with 10.59.9 in the 3000m and 2.43.1 in the B 800m. The B 3000m went to Kathy Warhurst in 11.30.9 and there were maximum points in the 1500m with Sarah Coates taking the A race in a personal best 5.05.3 and Natasha Johnson winning the B race in 5.19.5. Rowena Harrison picked up good 2nd places in the 200m (27.4) and the 400m (59.2) and there was a club record 69.0 for Nina Swaby when grabbing 3rd place in the 400m hurdles. Both relays were won in comprehensive style by the Wellington quartets with 51.7 in the 4x100m and 4.14.0 in the 4x400m.
