There was a terrific result in the 3000m steeplechase with Tom Doe scoring in a splendid time of 9.30.3 on his debut in the
event and Ronnie McWilliam winning the B race by a massive margin in 9.33.7. Matt Bowser turned in two good efforts to win the
800m in 1.54.6 and the 5000m in 15.15.5. And Simon Bell comfortably won the B race in the latter event in 16.06.0. In the
1500m Tom Doe felt the exertions of his steeplechase effort but still finished a good 3rd in 4.07.8 and Jason Hall took five
seconds off his personal best when winning the B race in 4.12.9. Steve Blagdon is in fine form now and took the 100m in 11.8
and the 200m in 22.7. Ricky Lea was 2nd in the B 100m in 11.8 and Jim Ayuba was runner up in the B 200m in 23.9. Malc Bramhall
ran well for 3rd spot in the 400m hurdles in 60.1 and Geoff Powley won the B race in a very useful 63.3. With Nigel Winchcombe
and Adrian White missing the field event squad was somewhat depleted. Dan Bishop scored good points in the discus and shot
and Steve Swaby, Phil Mackie and Geoff Powley all made valuable contributions to secure the required result.

Match 3 - Grimsby
6 July 2003
The Lincoln Wellington mens team consolidated their position at the top of their league with a four-point victory in their
latest match at Grimsby. The win puts them well clear at the top of their division two table and well placed for a shot at
returning to division one after a year's absence.
