NoEAA Womens League Div. 3EC
Match 2 - Scunthorpe
8 June 2003

Another highly competent all round performance from the Lincoln Wellington women's team saw them to a comfortable victory over county rivals Boston AC in their latest Northern League Div 3 match at Scunthorpe. Hayley Brylewski got the team off to a good start by winning the 400 metres hurdles in a personal best and club under 17 record of 67.5 seconds and she then went on to win the B high jump with 1.40m and take 2nd place in the B 200m in 27.8. Nina Swaby won the B 400m hurdles quite convincingly in 75.3 and was 4th in the B 100m in 13.9. Lesley Bryant's return to competition has considerably strengthened the club in the field events and she notched up a winning double with 39.59m in the discus and 10.02m in the shot. The B discus gave new member Amy Orrow a win with 25.68m. Promising youngster Lydia Chamberlain produced some good results and picked up 2nd places in the long jump with 5.00m, the high jump with 1.47m and the 200m with 26.9.

There were good points in the 3000m with Sarah Coates finishing 3rd in the A race in 11.12.6 and Kathy Warhurst winning the B contest in 11.29.0. And in the 1500m Annette Bell was 3rd in the A race in 5.05.2 with Amy Connolly 2nd in the B event in 5.12.3. Liz Ward crossed the line 4th in a good quality 400m in 62.5 and followed up with 6th place in the 100m in 13.8. Denise Timmis was 3rd in both the B 400m in 64.8 and the B long jump with 4.54m. A useful clearance of 2.20m gave Hayley Fox 2nd place in the pole vault and Sharon Waller was also in the points in the field with 2nd spots in the hammer (20.18m) and the B shot (7.63m). In the 800m there was a good run from Natasha Johnson with 2.30.5 for 3rd position in the A race and Alice Thomas was 2nd in the B race in 2.38.5. Linda Ellis enjoyed a rare competitive appearance with 10.23m for 4th place in the B hammer.

In the relays the 4x100m squad won well in 53.4 but the 4x 400m team were reeled in on the final leg and finished 2nd in 4.20.3.
