Match 1 - Hull

The Lincoln Wellington women's team cantered to an impressive 40 point win in their opening Northern League division 3 match
of the season at Hull's Costello Stadium. And with a number of the club's big guns not in action on this occasion promotion
to division 2 is already looking a foregone conclusion. The outstanding performance came from veteran Lesley Bryant who is
now back in competition mode. The ex Great Britain international threw a club record 37.12m to win the discus and followed
with 10.85 to win the shot and 22.40m for 5th place in the javelin. At the younger end of the age scale U17 Lydia
Chamberlin
won the high jump with 1.47m, took 2nd spot in the long jump with 4.90m and was 4th in the 200m in 27.6. Another excellent
performance came from U20 Sarah Coates to win the 3000m in a personal best 10.56.9. Annette Bell took the 'B' race in 11.00.5
and was runner up in the 800m in 2.30.1. Danielle Bryant picked up good points with wins in the 'B' shot (9.43m) and 'B'
high jump (1.40m) and 4th place in the triple jump with 9.51m. Hayley Brylewski notched a couple of wins in the 'B' 100m in
14.5 and the 'B' 400m hurdles in a personal best 71.4. And further 'B' event wins went to Sharon Waller in the javelin with
20.47m and Kathy Warhurst in the 800m in 2.39.6. Denise Timmis was 2nd in the 'B' long jump with 4.39m and also finished 5th
in the 400m in 67.2. There was a good performance in the latter event from new member Kayley Miller who won the 'B' race in
67.4. Nina Swaby contested three events and finished 3rd in the 400m hurdles in 71.9, 6th in the 100m in 14.5 and 4th in the
'B' triple jump with 8.30m. Good points came in the 1500m with Lucinda Pitcher 2nd in the 'A' race in 5.02.9 and Margaret
Thompson runner up the in 'B' event in 5.29.2. And there were also two runners up spots in the hammer from Sharon Waller
(20.76m) and Linda Ellis (13.98m).
