The under 13 boys team also produced a fine all round result to place 29th at the finish and in front of plenty of top club
squads. Jake Coyle finished 37th on the opening leg in 8.37 and Elliott Haywood improved three places on leg two in 8.49.
Ryan Smith picked up a further five places on the final leg with a time of 8.53. The B team were by no means disgraced in
finishing 73rd. Jack Ramsden (9.44), Beren Cross (9.36) and Henry Naughton (10.10) all performed well.
There were some late changes to the under 15 boys team due to illness but there were still some good results. The A team
finished a fine 34th with Tom Herbert recording 13.39 on leg one. Vinnie Harley (14.03) and James Dray (13.47) should have run
for the B team but both were promoted and did very well to clinch 34th place at the finish. The reorganised B team also did
well to finish 52nd overall with Tom Duffield coming back 70th on leg one before Oliver Bartlett (13.58) and Sam Delaney
(14.28) both gained several places with strong runs.
The under 15 girls team matched their male counterparts by also running strongly to finish 34th. Rachel Humberstone went
round in 9.11 on leg one for 40th position. Kelly Gilbert picked up a couple of places on leg two in 9.21 and Liz Harley put
in a good final leg to gain four more places in 9.08. Josina Clarke led off for the B team and finished in 62nd place in
9.34. Sarah Kimpton came back 64th on leg two in 9.52 and Katie Campion completed the squad with 11.36 on leg three for
69th spot at the finish. Sarah Coates was the only under 17 to compete for the club. She had an excellent run on the first
leg to finish in 12th place in a good time of 15.05.

Sutton Park
6 April 2003
The Lincoln Wellington under 13 girls squad followed up their highly successful cross country season with some more
outstanding running at the National Road Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham. All the big clubs in the country were represented
with over 100 teams on the start line and the Wellington A team girls ran their socks off to finish a terrific 13th.
Charlotte Hanson came back in 18th place on leg one with a time of 9 minutes 11 seconds. Blue Haywood scooted round in 9.01 on
leg two to pick up eight places and Lara Thomas did very well to return in 9.20 on leg three to clinch 13th position at the
finish. Almost equally encouraging was the effort from the B team squad which finished a very creditable 31st. Charlotte Gray
(9.41), Rebecca Jackson (9.30) and Helen Penistan (9.27) all did extremely well and there is no doubt that in this age group
the club has real strength in depth.
