The full marathon continued out on a totally flat course to Holme Pierrepoint Park before returning to the city.
Anthony Gerundini was very pleased to run steadily throughout the race (1hr 32mins at halfway) and knock 7 minutes off
his previous best to finish in 54th position out of 774 with a time of 3hrs 6 mins 6secs. Colin Blagrove started well
and passed half way in just under 1hr 30 mins but found the last half tough going despite training well. However he still
finished in 97th place in 3hrs 13mins 44secs. Despite vowing at the finish line never to attempt it again, I'm sure he
may have another go as both runners gained sub 3.15 times which should ensure entry into next year's London Marathon,
and both athletes are keen to break the magic 3 hour mark.

Cool and dry weather with just a light Northerly cross wind greeted the 3 Lincoln Wellington AC athletes on Sunday, at
this year's Nottingham Robin Hood full and half marathon. The conditions were ideal for this kind of endurance event
with 17 year old Roy Smith competing for the first time at the half marathon distance, and finishing creditably 423rd
out of 5338 runners in a time of 1hr 30mins 32seconds. Apart from a few hills in the city centre this course was mainly flat.
