They finished the final match at Scunthorpe in fourth place with 334 points when
just 3 more points would have placed them second and provided a promotion slot.
The senior women scored very heavily with Jenny Pacey in the thick of the action
throughout the match. She won the shot in 10.73m and 100m hurdles in 16
seconds, was second in the high jump with 1.62m, 200m in 26.9 seconds and long
jump with 5.38m, and finished third in the javelin with 24.79m.
Nina Forney recorded a personal best and club record of 70.3 seconds winning the
400m hurdles. She also scored in the high jump with 1.20m and took third
in the 100m.
Rachael Nathan moved up from the under 17 age group to run with the seniors and
posted an impressive double. She ran the 800m to win easily in 2.15.2 and
repeated the tactics for a comfortable win in the 400m in 61.5.
Annette Bell was also in double form with wins in the 3000m in 10.48.9 and the
1500m in 5.15.7. Kathy Warhurst also registered a 1500m victory, taking
the B race in 5.19.5. Sharon Waller scored well with a win in the shot
with 7.01m, second in the B 100m in 14.5 and further points in the hammer,
javelin and discus. Another good return came from Denise Timmis who won the B
200m in 28.9, the B long jump with 4.6m and the B 400m in 63.2. There
were further wins for Katie Tilley in the B 800m in 2.34.3 and for Hayley Fox
who cleared 2.40m to win the pole vault. Carly Gilbert was the only under 17
competing for Wellington and she was second in the shot with 7.35m and fourth
in the long jump with 4.03m. In the under 15 age group there was a win for
Lydia Chamberlin in the 75m hurdles in 12.7. She was also third in the
high jump with 4.17m, fourth in the long jump with 4.44m and in the 200m in
28.4. Josina Clarke notched a personal best 2.35.8 for third in the 800m and
followed that with fifth in the 100m in 14.4 and fourth in the B shot and long
jump. Sarah Kimpton was third in the 1500m in 5.39.9 with Katie Campion
taking the same position in the B contest in 5.55.0 This pair also
picked up useful points in the field. Kelly Gilbert crossed the line third
in the 800m in 2.50.7 and Odette Clarke notched points for the club in the
200m, discus and javelin.

There was an agonising finale to the Lincoln Wellington womens team's Northern
League campaign as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Second
Division.
