The girl's middle distance squad showed that they will not be overshadowed by the boy's results. Josina Clarke won the U15s
800m in 2.41.8 with Kelly Gilbert 2nd in 2.46.9 and Katie Campion 3rd in 2.56.5. The 1500m went to Rachel Humberstone in
5.28.4 from Sarah Kimpton 2nd in 5.33.0. Blue Haywood produced an outstanding run to win the U13 girls 1500m in 5.30.7 with
Charlotte Gray taking 3rd spot in 6.15.5. Lara Thomas picked up 5th place in the 800m in a useful time of 2.48.3. The U17
women's 1500m was won convincingly by Sarah Coates in 5.26.4 and U15 Lydia Chamberlain moved up an age group to record a
good time of 49.2 in the 300m. Rebecca Cansdale is probably in her best ever form at the moment and a time of 2.36.6 won her
the U20 women's 800m. A final win went to Dot Fraser in the veteran's 400m in 78.8 with Pat Kimpton runner up in 91.4.

With many of Lincoln Wellington's senior athletes in action at the Northern Cup match at Leeds it was the younger age groups
who caught the eye at the third Lincolnshire League match of the season at Grantham. In the under 15 boys 1500 metres Danny
Roome was extremely impressive when winning by a big margin in a personal best 4.27.7. Tom Herbert was 2nd in 4.49.7 and James
Dray was a promising 3rd in 5.02.4. The 800m also produced a 1-2-3 for Wellington. Vince Harley took the honours with 2.23.5
from Mark Plaskett in 2nd place in 2.28.5 and Oliver Bartlett 3rd in 2.30.4. There were more good results from the under 13
boys squad. Matt Richardson won the 100m in 14.4 with Jon Jones in 2nd spot in an identical time. The latter then scored in
the 200m in 30.2 with Sam Naughton 3rd in 30.9 and Dan Cocking 4th in 31.0. Naughton was also runner-up in the 800m in 2.43.0
whilst Cocking's clearance of 1.30m won him the high jump. A personal best 4.27.8 was good enough to win the under 17 men's
1500m for Ian Kimpton and Gary Cruickshank recorded 2.19.5 for 4th place in the 800m. New member Ben Chamberlain just edged
home in the 400m in 55.4 from Jason Lovell who moved up an age group and ran well for 2nd place in 55.5. Chamberlain
subsequently proved his versatility by winning the shot with 10.18m. Tom Doe is steadily recapturing his fitness after
injury and he ran away with the senior 5000m in 15.39.2. He looks set for a good second half of the season. Chris Bertins
also ran pretty well for 2nd place in the 1500m in 4.25.1 and a rare track appearance from Simon Kimpton saw him take 5th
place in the 100m in 16.7.
