There was a good turnout by Wellington athletes at the Saxilby 6 mile road race with Dean Houlton notching yet another
personal best when finishing in 11th place in 33.29 in a field of over 400 finishers. Jim Edwards was 60th in 39.14 and
Rob Butler 68th in 39.37. Kathy Warhurst's time of 40.16 was good enough to win her the women's event and she was pursued
by Anthony Gerundini 80th overall in 40.27 and Russ Haywood 99th in 41.40. Anne Gilroy was 6th women to finish in 43.15
with training partner Jim Diamond a little further back in 163rd place in 44.42. Jo Campion was next across the line in
200th place in 46.38. And the Wellington contingent was completed by Andy Gibson 211th in 47.59, Pat Kimpton 253rd in
49.54, Mia Haywood 255th in 50.06 and Jane Ramsden 301st in 53.08.
