Five Lincoln Wellington athletes completed the course in the London Marathon and returned unscathed. Steve Campion fared best
of the quintet with a personal best time of 3hrs 24mins 53seconds. Russ Haywood was next in 3.46.38, with Andy Gibson
returning in 4.45.04. Dave Strangeway crossed the line in 4.59.27 and Pat Kimpton just missed the five hour barrier with
5.08.47. The latter four were making their debuts at the distance and were all extremely pleased with their efforts.
