Under 20 multi-eventer Jenny Pacey was in great form for Lincoln Wellington at the fourth Lincs League match of the season at Grantham. She cleared a personal best 1.67m to win the high jump, recorded. another personal best to win the javelin with 25.91m and also took the 100m hurdles in 16.5. She completed a hectic afternoon with runner-up position in the 100m in 13.6 and the Long Jump with 5.01m.
In the same age group Rowena Harrison notched an impressive sprint double when scoring in the 100m in 13.6 and the 200m in 27.0. Rebecca Cansdale was another athlete in the points with a win in the U-20 mile in 6.35.0.
For the seniors there was a field event double by Caroline Barratt who threw 31.68m in the discus and took the shot with 10.28m. Jacqui Brown eased clear in the closing stages of the mile to win in 5.41.2 and Hayley Fox was successful in the pole vault with 1.90m.
Denise Timmis won the veterans 100m in 13.7 with Dorothy Fraser 3rd in 16.8 but the latter picked up maximum points in the 200m in 35.7 despite still being some way short of her best form. Another veteran victory went to Kathy Warhurst who won the mile in 5.46.6.
There was a good effort from Sarah Coates to win the U-17 mile in 5.49.0 with Nicola Hale 2nd in 5.50.3 and Alice Thomas 3rd in 6.00.6. Nicky Dale was runner-up in the javelin with 22.36m and there were places for Bukki Ojo in the 100m in 14.4 and the 200m in 29.8.
New member Jo Clarke showed good speed in the 100m with 4th place in 14.8 and followed up with 5th spot in the 200m with 31.3. Kelly Gilbert was a close 4th in the 800m in 2.54.7.
The outstanding performance from the men’s squad came in the U-17’s high jump which was won by James Gilbert with a splendid leap of 1.90m. Luke Lovell won the triple jump with 11.11m with Richard Duffin in 2nd place with 10.94m but the latter went on to score in the discus with 32.86m. Jason Lovell finished well to take the U-17’s mile in 5.14.0 and Jason Hall notched another personal best when taking the 3000m in 9.27.5 with Rchard Ellis 3rd in 10.07.2. In the same event Adey Marston was pleased with 4th place in the senior contest in 9.35.5 and Mike Bowen was 1st U-20 to cross the line in 9.56.7.
Nigel Winchcombe continued his good form, winning the veterans hammer with a throw of 51.00m.
Josh Stone returned to action after an injury lay-off and won the U-15’s mile impressively in 5.09.5 with Gary Cruickshank 3rd in 5.36.6. There were some good performances in the U-15’s 800m with a big personal best for Wesley Caton in 5th place in 2.21.27. Shaun Dunn was 6th in 2.22.7. with Tom Herbert 8th in 2.27.1 and Mark Plaskitt 10th in 2.36.6- the latter pair also recording best times.
Promising U-13 Matthew Richardson scooted home in the 100m in 14.5 and new member Joseph Mayall kept going well for 3rd place in the mile in 6.30.9 in his debut for the club.
