Lincolnshire Schools combined events championships

Two of Wellington’s young multi-eventers were in terrific form at the Lincolnshire Schools/Lincolnshire athletics combined events championships at Kings Lynn. Jenny Pacey won a remarkable six out of the seven events she contested in the senior girls heptathlon and in the remaining event she recorded a personal best 23.83m in the javelin to finish 2nd. At the end of the competition she was well clear of the opposition with a total of 4019 points.

Richard Duffin competed in the intermediate boys octathlon and after failing to record a valid throw in the javelin he recovered in fine style to finish 2nd overall with a score of 3513 points from his remaining seven events.
