Tuesday 22nd March 2011:  Coaches meeting - 30th March - Victoria Pub meeting room from 7pm onwards. All coaches and team managers welcome.
Sunday 20th March 2011:  Membership subscriptions were due in November 2010This is a list of all those who, according to our records, have not yet paid.  Please refer to this reminder letter for details of how to pay.
Please also be aware that the late payment fee of £10 for subs not paid before 13th March 2011 should be included on all payments from now on.
Wednesday 16th March 2011:  Help Required at Athletics Matches - We are very short of parents and volunteers to assist with the many athletics matches LWAC will be competing in this season.  These competitions can only take place with the goodwill of many people who give up there time for free to help stage them.  We would like to urge as many of you as possible to get involved, no previous experience is necessary and training will be given where required.  We are short of Track and Field Officials and Assistants, Timekeepers and Hurdles Stewards for the Lincolnshire League (10th and 17th April), National Young Athlete League (8th May, 22 May, 5th June and 19th June) and Northern League Meetings (on 7th May, 4th June, 3rd July and 14th August).  Even if you can only help out on one or two of these dates it would be appreciated.
We also require volunteers to run a tuck shop for the first two Lincs league meetings that we are hosting at Yarborough.
If you can assist with any of these roles (even in a limited capacity), we would be very pleased to hear from you.  Please contact our Officials Secretary, Marie Phillips, or leave your name at the information point in the Sports Hub on any club night.
Tuesday 15th March 2011:  A fluorescent jacket owned by Charlotte Bacon from Larry's group has gone missing tonight.  It was among the jackets handed to Larry before the warm-down, but could not be found afterwards.  It has got her name in it, as well as an entry form for the '10k' (Primary School version), in the pocket.
If anyone has picked it up by mistake, or it is found it in the hut, could you please tell Charlotte's dad by email.
Thursday 10th March 2011:  Track Restrictions on Tuesday 15th March - The track is currently being treated to remove moss and lichen growth.  Unfortunately, Active Nation have informed us that there may be no access to large areas of the track on Tuesday evening as a period of time must elapse before the track is re-usable.  If possible the track will remain open but large areas may be coned off.  This may also be the case on the Thursday session but hopefully full access may be available by then.  Active Nation have apologised for the inconvenience but the treatment takes several days and they have tried to minimise disruption to our club. Your assistance in keeping off the affected areas during this period would be appreciated.
Wednesday 9th March 2011:  LWAC Team Entries For Lincs League Matches 1 and 2 - In order to assist our team managers for the Lincs League (Denise Timmis and Lee Martin), we require all athletes to pre-enter there preferred events and pay their required match fee up front by Thursday 31st March latest.  This will give the team managers time to put up a team sheet on the hub notice board and website the week before the first event.  This may seem very formal but it is necessary because of the League's insistence that, at each meeting, no more than 4 athletes can compete per age group per event for age U13 upwards (if we have more than 4 in an event then every athlete in that age group/event will be disqualified and no performances will be recorded).  In the case where we get more than 4 athletes entered for a particular event, then this gives the team managers and coaches time to allocate events as fairly as possible over the two matches and submit team sheets in advance.  Coaches and athletes can register their preferred events with the information officer in the Sports Hub along with payment.
Entries will only be accepted on the day at the discretion of the Team Managers into events where spaces are available.

Saturday 1st January 2011:  parkruns are weekly free timed 5k runs, run every Saturday at 9am.  They are open to everyone and are safe and easy to take part in.  All parkrun events take place in traffic-free parkland surroundings and people of every ability are encouraged to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; all are welcome.  There is no pressure to go fast or even to run - times vary from 14 minutes to about 60 minutes.  parkrun is a great way to get into running or just to measure your performance on a regular basis.
There are no parkruns yet in Lincolnshire, but there are runs in Hull, Sheffield and Leicester, and more are being started all of the time.
To take part, all you need to do is register once at www.parkrun.com, print off your barcode and take it with you to each run.  You then just line up at the start and run. After you finish, you will be given a position tag; you then get it and your parkrun barcode scanned.  Results for each event will be available on Saturday afternoon.  That's all there is to it.
If you need any more information, go to the parkrun website or speak to Simon Kimpton.
