Thursday 16th October 2008:  Future of Lincolnshire Athletics Association - At the recent Lincs AA AGM, it was not possible to appoint a Chairman, Secretary or Minutes-Secretary.  This could lead to a complete collapse of the organisation of athletics in Lincolnshire i.e. no more League matches, county championships or inter-county selection/competition for Lincolnshire clubs and athletes.  We put out a big, big, plea to all of you involved in any way with Lincolnshire athletics to rack your brains to come up with suggestions/nominations for the above posts.  If you need any clarification of what the jobs entail please contact Tony Woollard for further information.  It's your association, existing purely to serve athletes/athletics and organise competition for local clubs - please don't let it wither away.  See the letter from Doug Eke on this matter.  There will be an emergency meeting of Lincolnshire Athletics Association at Carres Grammar School in Sleaford at 7pm on Monday 10th November at which the future of the Association will be discussed.
Monday 13th October 2008:  The next pub night will be on Friday 17th October at the Swanholme Tavern on Doddington Road, starting at 8pm.

To guarantee a place on the bus, please reserve your seats on the bus list which will be posted in the club hut this Tuesday.
Saturday 11th October 2008:  With effect from 1st November 2008, club membership fees will regrettably increase to cover increased operating costs for LWAC. This year the club balance sheet will show an approximate deficit of £4,000 following increased affiliation fees, transport costs and facility charges. The overall bank balance remains healthy but we need to raise our income to ensure the club can continue in future years. New charges are detailed in the attached table. These have been kept to the minimum possible in the best interests of our membership. Annual membership fees can be paid on the evening of the AGM or passed on to the club Treasurer, further details on payment will be forwarded to members in due course.  Note that the committee has withdrawn the 20% reduction on membership fees if paid at the AGM.
Friday 10th October 2008:  The LWAC Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday 17th November in the West Hall, Yarborough School, starting at 7.30pm.  All proposals must be forwarded to Darrell Helas in writing by Monday 27th October.  Remember it is your club and if you want a say in how it is run then come along.  Better still let us know if you are willing to get involved with the running of the club as we are desperately short of volunteers!
Thursday 9th October 2008:  Last Sunday, six athletes from the club (Sally Cairns, Lindsay Campbell, Liam Clarke, Hannah Dunderdale, Joe Dunderdale and Laura Maplethorpe) attended the Geoff Capes Throws Academy selection day. Following the welcome and introduction, the athletes were split into throwing groups and spent the remainder of the morning undergoing generic quad tests.  After lunch, the athletes demonstrated their throwing ability and received some feedback.  This was followed by a weights demonstration.  The day concluded with all athletes partaking in a conditioning session.  At the end of a full and enjoyable day, the athletes now wait a couple more weeks to find out if they have been selected.
