News July - September 2008
| Monday 29th September 2008: County U11 Sportshall Trials - 18th October - Trials are available for school year 5 and 6 athletes. These will take place at Northgate Sports Hall in Sleaford on the afternoon of 18th October. Application forms can be obtained here. |
| Monday 29th September 2008: Rob Lewis reports on Saturday's Northern Road Relays in Hartlepool. |
| Sunday 28th September 2008: Transport - Northern Junior Road Relays - A team coach is available for this event on Sunday 5th October. The coach leaves Yarborough Leisure Centre at 8.00am for Croxteth Park, Liverpool. This is open to all athletes, parents, coaches and supporters. The cost is £5 per person (payable on the day). To guarantee a place on the bus, please reserve your seats on the bus list which will be posted in the club hut this Tuesday. |
| Sunday 28th September 2008: Results of yesterday's Northern Road Relays in Hartlepool are available on the Sportsoft website, accessible from our Results page. |
| Tuesday 23rd September 2008: Dates and venues for the majority of Lincs League Cross Country matches and also the County Championships are now available on the Cross Country Fixtures page. |
| Monday 22nd September 2008: Congratulations to Geoff Powley, who placed an excellent third in the BMAF Decathlon Championships in Oxford. |
| Wednesday 17th September 2008: Rob Lewis reports on the LWAC performances at the Northern Plate Final in Manchester. |
| Tuesday 16th September 2008: Northern Junior Road Relays, Croxteth Park Liverpool, Sunday 5th October - Any athlete wishing to take part in the Northern Road relays should pass their name to their coach or Geoff Powley no later than Thursday 18th September. The club is planning to provide a bus to this event (details to follow) for anyone wishing to take part or support this event. |
| Tuesday 16th September 2008: Northwood Hurdles Academy - Application form, dates and information here for hurdles development sessions at Stoke and Loughborough for athletes in the U15 through to senior category. Criteria is that athletes must be of 'reasonable club standard'. |
| Tuesday 16th September 2008: LincolnTri club - Stars of The Future Mini Triathlon - 11th October at Yarborough Leisure Centre - Various age categories up to 16 years. Click here for a poster with more details. |
| Friday 12th September 2008: A bus has been booked for the Northern Knockout Final on Saturday 13th September to take the team to Manchester leaving Yarborough Leisure Centre at 7:45am (note the new time). Anyone wishing to travel on it should pass their name and number of seats required to either Nina Swaby, Denise Timmis, Jim Slater or Hayley Fox. (This is so they can keep track of numbers and so do not leave without anyone). |
| Thursday 4th September 2008: The venue for this Saturday's Humberside T&F League has been changed to Grimsby. There will be no hammer events at this meeting. |
| Wednesday 3rd September 2008: Congratulations to Susie Ardron, who is 50 today. With a lot of blank spaces in the Women's V50 club records, it is likely that Susie's name will be filling several of those spaces in the not too distant future. |
| Tuesday 2nd September 2008: Congratulations to junior sprint coach Stuart Benson on winning the Stewarts Scottish National Championships 200m in a time of 21.40s. Stuart also finished 2nd in the 100m in a time of 10.49s. |
| Monday 1st September 2008: Separate results for the County 5000m and 10000m Championships held during the 4th Lincs League match in Grantham are now online. |
| Saturday 30th August 2008: Updated results from Lincs League T&F matches 1, 2 and 3 are now online. Overall team points results are now available. |
| Friday 29th August 2008: Happy birthday to Malc Bramhall. A real stalwart of the club and a member for over 20 years, Malc celebrates his 50th birthday today and will now have the chance to set many new V50 club records. |
| Thursday 28th August 2008: Results from last night's fourth LWAC Summer Series races are now available. 2008 series results are also available. All-time series records have also been updated. |
| Wednesday 27th August 2008: LWAC Awards Evening - This year's club awards evening and disco will take place on Friday 3rd October at the Lindum Sports club from 7.30 - 11.00 pm. Further details and guest of honour will be announced shortly. Everyone is welcome and contributions of food for the open table would be appreciated. |
| Sunday 24th August 2008: The 2008 Club T&F Rankings list has been updated again. |
| Thursday 21st August 2008: Results from last Sunday's Lincs League match at Grantham. Overall team points results will be available shortly. Rob Lewis's report on the match is also available. |
| Wednesday 20th August 2008: Any athlete who would like to take part in an Olympic flag handover ceremony in the centre of Lincoln on Sunday 24th August should contact Kathleen Warhurst by email or in person by the end of training on Thursday 21st. The 3 athletes to take part will be selected by a draw. Other athletes are welcome to go along and watch. |

| Sunday 27th July 2008: Street Athletics Community Coaching Day - Everyone is welcome to the community coaching day at Yarborough track on Tuesday 29th July from 1pm - 4 pm. Specialised coaching is available from Katherine Merry (Olympic 400m Bronze medal Winner) and a team of Street Athletics Community Coaches. |

| Wednesday 2nd July 2008: Rather belatedly, Keith Taylor has requested some help in hosting the Street Athletics at Yarborough tomorrow evening. If you or anyone else can offer their services (registering, timing, starting etc) between 6pm and 8pm, it would be appreciated. Note that the event will be taking place on the cycle track behind the stand. Our athletes are also invited to participate. |
