Wednesday 27th February 2008:  Rob Lewis has asked for the following note on press reports to go on the website.
"Due to constraints on space the Echo have requested that club reports be limited as near as possible to a maximum of 500 words. With big events and the numbers of club athletes competing it is very difficult to give everyone a mention within the 500 word limit unless the report becomes just a list of results. With the recent National report I tried to mention all team scorers as priority and this still resulted in a 576 words report. I am aware that a few performances were not mentioned but to do this would have required around 700 words minimum with the risk that the Echo would simply curtail the report and maybe one of the more significant performances would therefore be missed.
I would give advance notice now that when meetings like Lincs League track and field are being reported it will be completely impossible to report all results in the space allowed. My philosophy will be to give priority to the most significant results but to mention as many athletes as possible in the 500 word space allowed.
"
Maybe we could find an Assistant Press Officer who could take the Echo report and add any missing performances to produce a website report with all names included. Please contact Rob if you would like to volunteer.
