Thursday 30th June 2005:
Normal service has now been resumed on our website
www.lwac.org.uk. Anyone who has sent an email to LWAC since
Monday should resend it as no mail was passed forward to me during the
service problem.
Thursday 30th June 2005: Results from last night's
second LWAC Summer Series races are now
available. Again there was some good racing, including a sprint
race-off between Emma Lord and Jo Campion and the race-long tussle
between Sarah Kimpton and Laura Smith.
Monday 27th June 2005:
Due to a problem with the website hosting, our normal website address
- www.lwac.org.uk - is temporarily not working. Our backup website -
www.lwac.fsnet.co.uk - is still fully functioning. Apologies for any
inconvenience and I will get it resolved as soon as I can.
Wednesday 15th June 2005:
Another club record for Jenny Pacey, this time with a 15.34s run in
the 100m Hurdles last Saturday at the Hexham International Combined
Events meeting.
Saturday 11th June 2005:
We have a new flyer for use on notice boards at schools and other
sporting venues. You can find it here.
Thursday 9th June 2005: A
stopwatch was found on Tuesday on one of the steeplechase
barriers. If you think it may be yours, contact
us.
Sunday 5th June 2005: A
new mens 4x400 club record of 3m 24.5s was set by our team of Matt Bowser,
Tom Duffield, Dan Hill and Steve Blagdon in yesterday's Northern
League match. Well done to all of them.
Saturday 4th June 2005:
Results from today's Northern League Div2EC match at Grantham are now

Thursday 26th May 2005:
Results from last night's first LWAC Summer Series races are now
available. There were some closely fought battles during the
races, not least being the narrow Senior Men's victory for Stuart
Cragg over Ronnie McWilliam. The next race in the series will be
on 29th June.
Friday 20th May 2005:
Well done to Hannah Dunderdale, who yesterday set a new U11G Shot club
record of 5.32m at the Charnwood Open.
Sunday 15th May 2005:
More club records fell today in the sunshine at Grantham during the
County Championships. Annette Bell improved on her recent best
by achieving a V40 record of 11m 05.4s in the 3000m. Lydia
Chamberlin ran 15.4s in the U20 100m Hurdles. Finally, Jenny Pacey
improved two Senior Ladies marks, with 15.4s in the 100m Hurdles and
5.94m in the Long Jump. Well done to them all.
Friday 13th May 2005: CLS (the people who operate Yarborough Leisure
Centre) will be refusing entry to athletes without valid track tickets
from Tuesday 17th May. If you have paid for a track ticket but
have not yet received it, you should receive it when you arrive at the
track on Tuesday. If you have one of the old-style pink tickets,
CLS will replace it for you within a few weeks. You will still
be allowed access to the track though. If you do not have a
track ticket, you will be directed back to the reception desk at the
Leisure Centre to purchase one.
Thursday 12th May 2005:
Yet another club record, this time for Annette Bell. She achieved 11m
08.1s in the V40 3000m race at the Hertfordshire Open.

Lewis reports on the endeavours of the few in the Northern
League match in Mansfield last Sunday.
Monday 2nd May 2005:
A number of club records were set yesterday at the first Northern
League match of the season in Mansfield. Nigel Winchcombe,
having recently moved up to the V45 category set an impressive 3
records. He started with 51.26m in the hammer and followed this
with 37.89m in the discus and 11.61m in the shot. Sharon Waller
also set a new V35 record with 20.5s in the 100m hurdles. These
performances helped LWAC to achieve 2nd place in the match despite
having many athletes absent.
Saturday 30th April 2005:
A reminder to all LWAC athletes who train on the track at
Yarborough. CLS (the people who operate Yarborough Leisure
Centre) will be refusing entry to athletes without valid track tickets
from mid-May. Please make sure that you have bought your
ticket before this time.
Saturday 30th April 2005:
Another club record for Hannah Dunderdale, this time in last weekend's
second Lincs League match. She ran the U11 80m in 12.2 seconds.

Congratulations to all of our
runners in today's London Marathon. Full results of the

Wednesday 13th April 2005:
Well done to Hannah Dunderdale, who set a new U11 Long Jump club
record of 3.78m at the first Lincs League match at Grantham on Sunday.
Tuesday 12th April 2005:
The first Northern League Div2EC match on 1st May has been moved from
Derby to Mansfield Berry Hill as the Derby track is being refurbished.
Thursday 7th April 2005:
The LWAC Summer Series of races will this year take place on 25 May,
29 June, 27 July and 24 August. Entry
