Alison Dale has produced the second issue of our new club newsletter, Welly
News.
Sunday 26th September 2004:
The Louth Open XC that was due to take place on 3rd October has been
moved to 7th November. This is because of a problem with moving
the animals from the fields for the next few weeks. Please pass
this information on to anyone who may be affected.
Wednesday 8th September 2004:
The largely unpublicised Lincolnshire County Road Relays that were due
to have taken place in Boston on Sunday 12th September have been
cancelled due to the low number of entries. qed.
Wednesday 8th September 2004:
At last Sunday's Burghley Horseless Trials (a cross country race over
the Burghley 3-day eventing course), LWAC carried off the prizes for
the first 2 teams home and also the fastest runner. Well done to
all involved.
Monday 6th September 2004:
Nigel Winchcombe rounded off his season with a satisfactory win at the
Kingston Upon Hull open meeting held at the Costello Stadium, Hull
yesterday. He competed in the hammer, throwing 50.02m. This
was close to his season's best of 50.17m and was the third competition
this year over 50m.
After winning the World Masters Athletics Championships in Puerto Rico
last year, in the 40-44 age group, next year sees him move into the
45-49 age group and he looks forward to the prospect of preparing for
the next World Masters Championships to be held in San Sebastian,
Spain in August 2005.

Wellington AC Race Series races are now available. The list
of Series winners is also available now. Thanks go out to
all of the people who helped to make the race series happen, but
especially to all of the marshalls around the course and on the finish
line who I forgot to mention during the presentations yesterday
evening.

Monday 16th August 2004: Congratulations
to Malc Bramhall, Dot Fraser, Betty Stracey and Denise Timmis, who have just returned
from competing in the European Masters Championships in Aarhus,
Denmark. The highlight was Dot's silver medal in the V65 Women's
400m. Denise is preparing a full report on how they fared.

Wednesday 21st July 2004:
Well done to Tom Duffield who ran a
remarkable 49.59 for 3rd place in the A 400m at Stretford on 20th July
and in the process set a new personal best by almost a second and also
improved on his own under 17's club
record for the distance.
Monday 19th July 2004:

Breeze 10k are now available. Congratulations to Steve
Campion, who worked tirelessly to make the race a success.

Rob Lewis reports on last weekend's English
Schools T&F Championships in Gateshead.
Thursday 15th July 2004: Cat Foley contested the second race of the Peterborough 5k road series last night. Held on a hilly course around
housing estates in Stamford, she flew home in 4th place overall and finished 1st U20 with a time of 20 minutes and 3
seconds, equalling her lifetime best for the distance. This puts her in a strong position for the overall series
prize as she was also 1st in her age category at the opening Ferry Meadows race where she recorded 21
minutes 10
seconds.

to Jack Skeet, who set a new U13 1500m club record at Watford on
Wednesday.

Distance Triathlon World Championships in Sater, Sweden.

records during June. Geoff Powley (Pole Vault), Amy Orrow
(Hammer & Discus), Dot Fraser (Hammer), Lydia Chamberlin (Long Jump and High
Jump), Rachael Nathan (Steeplechase), Malcolm Bramhall (100m), Jenny
Pacey (Long Jump) and Liz
Glover (Hammer).
