Thursday 28th June 2001: Tom
Doe's profile added. Great news today that former member Linda Gray has
been selected for the first time to represent England in the Javelin event at
a forthcoming match in Croatia. Monday 25th June 2001: Read the report
on yesterday's North of England Inter Club Knock out match at Cleckheaton. Sunday 24th June 2001: The North of England Inter Club Knock out first
round took place today at Cleckheaton. There were many outstanding individual
results to report (see
them here). As far as the teams went, the men finished second in the match
and now qualify for the final at Cudworth on August 26th. This is the first
time in the club's history, that the men have got through to the final.
The ladies finished in 6th place. Some
of the team from today are pictured here. Thursday 21st June 2001: Congratulations to Carl Longley for breaking
his discus PB in the RAF Championships at Cosford yesterday with 39.23m in 4th
place. This broke his old PB by almost 2 metres. 40 metres will be his target
in the Northern Inter Club Knock out match at Cleckheaton on Sunday. Wednesday 20th June 2001: 5 of our athletes competed in an open meeting
at Manchester yesterday evening. Congratulations to Richard Blagrove who broke
his 800m personal best running 1 min 54.1 secs for 2nd place. Tom Doe also ran
800m finishing in 1 min 57.0 secs for 6th place. Matt Bowser was just outside
his PB for 3000m with 8 mins 31.10 secs and Gary Johnson set a new PB for 1500m
with 4 mins 08.12 secs in 3rd place. Under 17 athlete Jason Hall ran 4 mins
17.4 secs for 1500m in 7th place. Tom Doe also ran in the 1500m finishing with
4 mins 06.5 secs for 3rd place. Tuesday 19th June 2001: With only two weeks to go before the World Veterans
Athletics Championships start in Brisbane, Australia, I thought it was a good
time to give an in depth profile of one of our star Veteran athletes, Dot Fraser,
who will be taking part in her second World championships. Read
the story of her remarkable career. Emily Taylor's profile added also. Sunday 17th June 2001: Yesterday's Anglian Schools were a great success
for several of our athletes. Rachel Nathan
won the
Intermediate Girls 1500m in 4 mins 27.5 secs which knocks another big slice
off her personal best and club record time. This time is better than the qualifying
standard for the World Youth Games!! In winning the Senior Boys 800m, Matt Bowser
lowered
his PB to 1 min 55.9 secs. Jenny Pacey won the Senior Girls triple jump in a
personal best distance and club record of 11.02m. This is also qualifies her
for the English Schools Championships. This now means that 4 of our clubs athletes
will take part in the English Schools Athletics Championships to be held at
Exeter in July. Well done to Rachel Nathan, Matt Bowser, Rowena Harrison and
Jenny Pacey. Jason Hall had another good run and personal best in the Intermediate Boys
1500m Steeplechase, becoming the Anglian Schools champion. Alice Thomas also
improved her personal best in the Intermediate Girls 800m. See

to accompany the story of the club's history since 1911. Good luck to those
who are competing for Lincolnshire in the Anglian Schools tomorrow!! Next Wednesday,
the second in the series of open Road Races takes place at Yarborough. For
details, click here. Sunday 10th June 2001: Yesterday, many of the club's schools athletes
competed in the Lincolnshire County Schools Championships at Grantham. Congratulations
to Natasha Johnson for breaking her PB for 1500m and to Rachael Nathan and Liz
Ward for equaling their PBs. Jason Hall had another good run, setting a new
PB over the 1500m Steeplechase. Results from yesterday are available here. Members may remember Javelin thrower Linda Gray from a few years ago. These
days, she competes for Peterborough and has made remarkable progress since coming
back from operations on both achilles tendons last Autumn. Today at Eton in
Berkshire, she threw a lifetime PB in the Javelin of 52.86m, beating her old
PB by almost 3 metres. She has now achieved the England Team selection qualification
standard (52 metres), for next year's Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Wednesday 6th June 2001: Read

Well done to the following, who achieved personal bests!!....Rachael Nathan(800m),
Sarah Coates(1500m) and Emily Taylor(1500m). Monday 4th June 2001: Read
Rob Lewis's report on last Saturday's Northern Men's League Division 2 SE match
at Sheffield. Sunday 3rd June 2001: Yesterday's
results and photographs from the Northern Men's League Division 2SE match at
Sheffield. Final match result was 1) Lincoln Wellington 300 points, 2) Hallamshire
283 points, 3) Barnsley 254 points, 4) Derby 245 points, 5) Doncaster 185 points,
6) Bingley 115 points. There were many fine performances, but a special mention
goes to Jason Hall who on his senior men's team debut and first run over 3000m
Steeplechase, set a PB and new Under 17 club record of 10 mins 29.4 secs. PB's
were also achieved by Adey White in the 110m Hurdles and Hammer, Richard Blagrove
in the 1500m and Stephen Blagdon in 200m. Friday 1st June 2001: Tomorrow the second Northern Men's
League Division 2SE match of the season takes place at Woodburn Road Stadium,
Sheffield. After being narrowly beaten in the first fixture by Derby, the Lincoln
Wellington team will be pulling out all the stops to win the match. Read

on last weekends North of England Junior Championships at Barnsley. Congratulations
to Rachel Nathan on her outstanding victory in the Under 17 ladies 3000m breaking
her own club record by twenty seconds, recording 9 mins 41.5 secs. Matt Bowser,
a first year under 20 competitor finished runner up in the 1500m breaking Tom
Doe's club record with 3 mins 54.36 seconds. Rowena Harrison has
achieved every young school athlete's dream, a qualification time for the English
Schools Athletics Championships at Exeter in July. Congratulations!! Full results

Congratulations to Jenny Pacey on winning and equaling her own club record

Rachel Nathan was not the only county record breaker yesterday! Jenny Pacey
broke her Under 20 Ladies Triple Jump record by 70 centimetres, jumping 10.52m. Today's results and more photos available here. Congratulations to all our county champions, but particularly
to those who set personal bests today. They were (as far as I know!), Liz Samways
in the 200m, Nicola Dale in the Discus, Jenny Pacey in the High Jump, Rowena
Harrison in the 200m, Matt Hughes in the 800m, Matt Bowser in the 5000m and
Phil Mackie in the Triple Jump. Matt Bowser's time of 15 mins 43.6 secs in
the Under 20 5000m was a new club and county record. Hayley Brylewski broke
her county Under 15 record for the 75m Hurdles running 12.8 secs to win. Saturday 12th May 2001: Results and Photos from Day 1

PBs that I know about were set by Rachel Humberstone in the under 13 girls
1500m, Sarah Kimpton in the Under 15 1500m, Rowena Harrison in the Under 20
Ladies 400m, Josh Stone in the Under 15 boys 1500m, Adey White in the Senior
Mens Pole Vault and Rachel Nathan in the Under 17 girls 1500m. Rachel's time
of 4 mins 32.1 secs broke the county record by 28 seconds! Congratulations
to all those who set PB's and got seasons bests. Good luck for tomorrow!! Friday 11th May 2001: Rob Lewis's full report on the

championships. Thursday 10th May 2001: With the Lincs AA county track
and field championships coming up this weekend at Grantham, have
a look and see who is entered for which events. I will be putting results
on this site after each day, hopefully with some photos. If you would like your
photo taken, let me know and I will do my best to include you. Tuesday 8th May 2001: Results
from the first round of the Northern Women's League Division 2E match at York last Sunday added. Liz

Northern Men's League Division 2SE match at Lincoln last Saturday is available
here. Saturday 5th May 2001: The first round of the Northern
Men's Division 2SE match took place at Lincoln today. A very close match result
saw Lincoln come agonisingly close to winning the match. The final result was
Derby and County 1st, 296 points. Lincoln Wellington 2nd, 293 points. Barnsley
3rd, 234 points. Hallamshire Harriers 4th, 201 points. Doncaster and Stainforth
5th, 170 points. Bingley Harriers 6th, 78 points. Results and

thunder, congratulations go to Gary Johnson
who broke his PB for the 3000m Steeplechase by over 10 seconds, running
10 mins 28.3 secs to win the 'B' race. Matt
Bowser also got a new PB in the 1500m, running 4 mins 04.6 secs to win the
'A' race. Malc Bramhall set a new Veterans M40 club record in the High Jump
with 1.65m for 4th place in the A string competition. Tuesday 1st May 2001: Lincs League results from last

and Nicky Dale on setting new PBs. Apologies to anyone else who broke their
PB, but I didn't know about it!. Please let me know if you would like your own
personal profile to be added, then we can follow your progress!! Monday 30th April 2001: Rachel
Nathan competed last weekend in a Northern Counties Inter Area match at
Shildon in county Durham, representing the Eastern area of Northern England.
She won her race over 3000 metres comfortably in 10 mins 00.2 secs. This is
a new Under 17 club record, taking 14 seconds off the old record held by S.Robinson.
Rachel has now already achieved the English Schools Championships qualifying
times over both 1500 and 3000 m. Wednesday 25th April 2001: Bang goes another club record
for Matt Bowser!! Matt
ran a 3000 m race in an open meeting at Stretford. In a remarkable run, he improved
his 3000m PB from last year by almost 40 seconds by recording 8 mins 30.1 secs.
This beat the existing Under 20 club record of Sam Illidge by nearly 15 seconds
and is also faster than Simon Bell's senior club record of 8 mins 32.6 secs.
This performance also gained Matt a senior boys English Schools AA championships
entry standard for 3000m which is 8 mins 36.0 secs. Monday 23rd April 2001: 4 Lincoln Wellington athletes
successfully completed the Flora London Marathon. Annette Bell ran 3 hours 17
minutes and 45 seconds, Kathy Warhurst ran 3 hours 25 minutes and 31 seconds.
Brian Fox ran 3 hours 29 minutes and 51 seconds. Ann Gilroy ran 3 hours 47 minutes.
Congratulations go to them all for a tremendous achievement!! Friday 20th April 2001: Rachel
Nathan's 4 mins 40.8 secs run for 1500m last Monday at Grantham was a new
club Under 17 Girls record. It knocked 4 seconds off the old record held by
the outstanding middle distance runner Sharon Davenport. This is Rachel's first
year as an Under 17 Girl, so her new record which was set in cold windy conditions,
front running on her own, was a great run. See Rob Lewis's comprehensive report
here. On Sunday, Kathy Warhurst, Ann Gilroy and Annette Bell run for
the club in the Flora London Marathon. Best wishes and good luck go to them
for this gruelling challenge. Thanks go to Gary Warhurst for supplying
information about the history of Lincoln Wellington Athletic Club since 1911. Wednesday 18th April 2001: Having looked at the results
from Monday and compared with individual athletes profiles, congratulations
go to Matt Bowser who
set a PB in the 5000m of 16 mins 13.7 secs. This is a new club Under 20/Junior
Men record, chopping well over a minute off the old record held by Lee White
which was 17 mins 34.0 secs. Also setting new PB's was Rachel
Humberstone (Under 13 Girls) who ran 6 mins 06.0 secs for the 1500m and
3.02m in the Long Jump. Liz
Samways (Under 15 Girls) broke her 200m PB by 0.2 seconds recording 29.3
secs. Tuesday 17th April 2001: All

the British Colleges Cross Country Champion last Saturday. This marks the end
of a fine cross country season for Matt. Monday 9th April 2001: Adie Marston's profile added,
congratulations go to Adie on breaking his 3000 m PB twice in succession at
recent open meetings!! He has now chopped off over 8 seconds from a PB that
